Real Answers to Direct Questions: Behind the Scenes of a CBS Evening News Q&A

STS Board Member Rob Pincus was interview for a CBS Evening News broadcast on August 6th, 2019.

The interview was conducted remotely from CBS News HQ with Pincus in an affiliate studio in Florida. Unfortunately, only a few seconds of the interview aired nationally.

The video linked contains the complete Q&A related to the problems currently facing the NRA and the concerns that many American Gun Owners have.

Many people have said that things will “get worse before they get better” in regard to the Crisis inside the NRA. We feel Strongly that the only way to get to the “better” part is by speaking openly and directly about the worst parts of the crisis. Without acknowledging the very real problems, we will not be able to advance the solutions to reform the NRA.

  1. The more I watch this, the more I realize that the interviewee knows that he is sitting for a soundbite session. It’s evidenced by his reaction and look at the interviewer when he muffs his response and gies into take 2 mode. So, dry up the years that 10 minutes of looking pretty for the camera resulted in a 10 second sound bite.
